TEACH US TO NUMBER OUR DAYS: A 3-WEEKS MYSTERY

We have become acutely aware of the mystery that is being born in and around us through these now three weeks worth of newborn days. Zoe is growing; she is not the girl she was when we first brought her home, wrapped her in swaddling clothes, and lay her in a bassinet. Still tiny, she is larger than life; still sleepy, she is taking it -- taking us -- all in; still sometimes fussy, she is aching and longing for what she instinctively knows is waiting just around the bend -- growth, vision, language, and love. May we honor her, honor one another, and honor God by numbering our days, counting these blessings, and memorizing the faces she makes, the sounds as she's nursing, the almost-sneezes that usher a wordless joy as if from a well in our hearts.

Kendra continues to be well -- immeasurably well. Motherhood becomes her and she becomes motherhood. I am all the richer for having this privilege of watching, waiting, and wishing.

To you who love us, encourage us, and support us -- thank you, from our heart-of-hearts, which is so much bigger now because of her, and because of who we are becoming together with her.

Enjoy these recent pictures of the new life among us.

If you are that in love with Zoe and she hasn't even smiled at you yet..........well, just look out when that comes soon.

She is an absolute doll.

She has already changed so much. It is amazing how much they change in such a short amount of time. She is beautiful....she is a perfect "little" Carroll.

Thank you for the pics...keep them coming.
