Drivin' Down to the River

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of some of our beloved church members, Zoe has begun to learn to drive her first car: the cozy coupe, on older-model, low-mileage, great-for-first-time-buyers vehicle for smart drivers who refuse to haggle. It's bright red (the police watch her very closely). It has a manual transmission, power brakes and windows, and an option for removing the top for a convertible-feel. The fuel economy is incredible. So far, she's been getting about 100,000 MPG, and with a gas station at the end of our street, she'll be lucky if caught off-guard on "Empty." Only thing is, no air bags. We're working on that.

Zoe loves to take her best friends for a ride in this one-seater. Ada and Lois, her two dolls, are a bit more comfortable now that Zoe has logged several hundred miles on her new ride. They were, as one might expect, a bit skiddish at first. Their favorite route? Forward 1/10th of a mile, straight to the river's edge. They can be found there most every day, if not once, then one hundred times.

If you're in town, stop by. Zoe would love to give you a spin.
