A THOUSAND FORMS OF FROLIC

During the first week of June, while Jonathan was away studying, Kendra and Zoe Fiona visited Grandma and Grandpa (and Aunt Jenny) in St. Augustine, Florida. When the time had fully come, there was heard a call from the sandy shore of a nearby beach, "Come! Play! Rest! Remember!" And so they did.

For the second time in her life - perhaps this one more memorable for her - Zoe Fiona danced to a thousand forms of frolic: in the sand (sometimes eating it), at the water's edge (sometimes going near), in the waves (though they - like she - be unruly), on a towel (when she grew too tired to play), and, finally, in a hand-built, bonafide, sandcastle-turned-watery hole.

...and she laughed, and played, and, remembered, we pray. If not, we will remember for her, even now.

And she danced. Yes, Mommy and her little girl danced at the seaside, and for a thousand miles you could hear the ovation - the cheering of everyone who has ever tenderly approached her vastness and dipped a toe into its cool, overwhelming grace.

The embodiment of God's own merry, cheerful self.
